Description

Background: The Alexandria Vet Center located at 6940 S. Kings Hwy, Ste 204, Alexandria VA 22310 and is currently seeking janitorial services for the offices, common areas, break room and bathrooms.



The Contractor shall provide janitorial services at the Alexandria Vet Center located at 6940 S. Kings Hwy, Ste 204, Alexandria VA 22310 for a base year and four (1) year options. Janitorial services at the Alexandria Vet Center will include, but not limited to trash removal and disposal, vacuuming, dusting, mopping, sweeping, cleaning of windows and surfaces, cleaning of restrooms, polishing of furniture and sanitization of surfaces.



A. Scope of Work:



Janitorial Services (100%)



The Vendor shall maintain the Premises and all areas to which the Government has routine access (approx. 3700 sq. ft) with two (2) bathrooms) approx. 80 sq ft each and a lunchroom in a clean condition and shall provide supplies and equipment on a daily basis during the normal work week, (Monday – Friday 8am to 4:30) excluding Federal Holidays for the term of the Contract. The following schedule describes the level of services intended. Performance will be based on the LCO’s evaluation of results, not the frequency or method of performance.



Daily



• Vacuum



• Thorough cleaning/ sanitizing of restrooms



• Empty trash receptacles, replace bags as needed.



• Fill supplies as needed (paper towels, bathroom tissue)



• Mop all floors thoroughly.



• Spot clean rugs as needed.



• Sanitize all high contact areas such as door handles.



Weekly



• High dusting & low dusting



• Polishing furniture



• Cleaning appliances exterior



Monthly



Clean Windows Interior/exterior



• Cleaning air vents



Rug cleaning every 6 Months



1. Knowledge Required by the Position



Knowledge of janitorial cleaning services and procedures sufficient to provide the Vet Center consistently a clean and sanitary office space for staff and clients. Dusting, mopping, sweeping, cleaning of windows and surfaces, cleaning of restrooms, polishing of furniture and sanitization techniques.



2. Scope and Effect



The incumbent shall be of good health and have the physical capacity to perform all duties required under the contract to include but not limited to removing trash from Vet Center building, mopping, bending and moderate lifting, hauling and pushing.



The Contractor shall provide janitorial services, equipment and supplies in the Alexandria Vet Center which is a busy counseling center and janitorial staff will necessarily encounter Vet Center staff and clients on a regular basis.



3. Work Environment



It is expected that the contractor provides all equipment, supplies and resources necessary for the performance of this contract Counselor offices should only be cleaned if they are not in session and doors are open.



B. Period of Performance



The period of performance is one 12 month base period plus four 12 month option periods.



Performance of this contract shall be daily during normal Vet Center operating hours. Normal working hours shall be from 8:00am to 4:30 pm, Monday thru Friday, excluding Federal holidays.



Federal Holidays observed by the Alexandria Vet Center are:



New Year Day Labor Day



Martin Luther King Day Columbus Day



Presidents’ Day Veterans’ Day



Memorial Day Thanksgiving Day



Independence Day Christmas Day



Juneteenth



This also includes any other day specifically declared by the President of the United States to be a national holiday.
