Design-Build Services for Camp Riverview Renovation

The District of Columbia (the “District”) Department of General Services (the “Department” or “DGS”) is issuing this Request for Proposals (“RFP”) to solicit design-build proposals (“Proposal(s)”) from offerors (“Offeror(s)”) interested in serving as the design-builder (the “Design-Builder” or the “Contractor”) for the renovation of Camp Riverview, located at 49000 Cornfield Harbor Road, Scotland, MD 20687 (the “Project”).

Camp Riverview is an overnight summer camp facility operated by DPR and is situated on a 200-acre property in Scotland, Maryland. The camp, which includes over a mile of Potomac River shoreline, diverse topography, and various natural habitats, is an ideal environment for outdoor education, recreation, and environmental awareness programs.

Camp Riverview serves children aged 8-13, and operates from June to August with four two-week-long sessions. The camp provides a variety of outdoor and creative activities, such as hiking, fishing, kayaking, swimming, arts & crafts, and horseback riding.

Despite its long service history, many of Camp Riverview's facilities have aged and no longer meet current standards for safety, accessibility, and programming needs. The last significant improvements to the camp were made decades ago, and a comprehensive renovation is now necessary to ensure the camp can continue to serve District residents effectively. The Project aims to modernize and enhance the existing facilities to meet current standards for safety, accessibility, and programming needs.
