Sealed Bids for the construction of the Dothan 2024 Tank Rehab, Elevated Tank No. 10-Honeysuckle Road 1.5 MMG Elevated Tank project will be received by City of Dothan, at the City Commission Chambers, Room 203, located on the second floor of the Roy M. Driggers Municipal Building/Civic Center, 126 North Saint Andrews Street, Dothan, AL 36303, until 2:00 PM, local time, on Tuesday, December 10, 2024 , at which time the Bids received will be publicly opened and read aloud.
Bids will be received for a single prime Contract. Bids shall be on a lump sum and/or unit price basis as indicated in the Bid Form.
Information and Bidding Documents for the Project can be found at the following designated website: https://poly-inc.com/bidsite . Bidding Documents may be downloaded from the designated website. Prospective Bidders are urged to register with the designated website as a plan holder, even if Bidding Documents are obtained from a plan room or source other than the designated website in either electronic or paper format. The designated website will be updated periodically with addenda, lists of registered plan holders, reports, and other information relevant to submitting a Bid for the Project. All official notifications, addenda, and other Bidding Documents will be offered only through the designated website. Neither Owner nor Engineer will be responsible for Bidding Documents, including addenda, if any, obtained from sources other than the designated website.
The Issuing Office for the Bidding Documents is Poly, Inc., 1935 Headland Ave., Dothan, AL 36303, 334-793-4700. Prospective Bidders may obtain or examine the Bidding Documents at the Issuing Office on Monday through Friday between the hours of 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, and may obtain copies of the Bidding Documents from the Issuing Office as described below. Partial sets of Bidding Documents will not be available from the Issuing Office. Neither Owner nor Engineer will be responsible for full or partial sets of Bidding Documents, including addenda, if any, obtained from sources other than the Issuing Office.
Bidding Documents also may be examined at the office of City of Dothan, Dothan Utilities, 200 Kilgore Drive, Dothan, AL, on Monday through Friday between the hours of 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
Printed copies of the Bidding Documents may be obtained from the Issuing Office by paying a deposit of $120.00 for each set plus shipping as applicable. Bidders who return full sets of the Bidding Documents in good condition within 10 days after receipt of Bids will receive a full refund minus shipping charges. Non-Bidders, and Bidders who obtain more than one set of the Bidding Documents, will receive a refund less the cost of printing, reproduction, handling, and distribution for documents returned in good condition within the time limit indicated above.
No Bidding Documents will be issued to bidders (prime) after the Pre-Bid Conference.
A pre-bid conference will be held at 2:00 PM local time on Tuesday, December 3, 2024 at Poly, Inc.’s office located at 1935 Headland Ave., Dothan, AL 36303. Attendance at the pre-bid conference is mandatory. Bids will not be accepted from Bidders that do not attend the pre-bid conference.
Bid security shall be furnished in accordance with the Instructions to Bidders.
All Bidders bidding in amounts exceeding that established by the State Licensing Board for General Contractors must be licensed under the provisions of Title 34, Chapter 8, Code of Alabama, 1975, and must show evidence of license before bidding or Bid will not be received or considered by the Owner. The Bidder shall show evidence by including its current license number during registration and clearly displaying on the outside of the sealed envelope in which the Bid is delivered.
The Owner reserves the right to reject any and all Bids and to waive technical errors if, in the Owner’s judgment, the best interest of the Owner will thereby be promoted. The Owner further reserves the right to negotiate price and time with the low bidder.
