The City of Aurora, Illinois (City) is in need of professional services from qualified engineering consultants for Phase III Construction Engineering Services for a federal resurfacing project. As a part of the selection process, the interested consultants are required to submit a Statement of Qualifications (SOQ) to perform the requested work.

Background

This project is located along several routes throughout the City of Aurora as listed below:

  • Kautz Rd (FAU 1555) from Ridge Ave to Ellington Dr
  • Ellington Dr (FAU 1556) from Kautz Rd to Keating Dr
  • Keating Dr (FAU 1556) from Ellington Dr to Aurora City Limits (~300’ west of Normantown Rd)
  • Randall Rd (FAU 2505) from Sullivan Rd to Galena Blvd
  • Eola Rd (FAU 2531) from Keating Dr to Hafenrichter Rd

The project is located in Kane, DuPage, and Will Counties. The total net project length is 3.97 miles. The anticipated construction cost is around $3,300,000, and the anticipated length is 60 working days.

The work for both projects consists of hot-mix asphalt surface course removal, pavement patching, polymerized hot-mix asphalt binder course, hot-mix asphalt surface course, recessed pavement markings, removal and replacement of concrete sidewalk and curb and gutter, landscaping and all other appurtenant work required to complete the project in accordance with the plans.

The Pre-Final Phase II Plans, Specifications, and Estimates (PS&E) have been submitted to IDOT for review. The project is targeting the November 7, 2025 State letting. The latest submitted plans and specs are attached for reference. The Construction and Construction Engineering are anticipated to be funded with a combination of federal (STP-L) and local funds. Local funds may be MFT or non-MFT. Additional federal funding is being pursued from what is programmed. The project may be delayed if Phase I approval is not received in time (currently under review). If the project is not able to make the November 7, 2025, State letting, it may be cancelled entirely.
