Description
THIS IS A SOURCE SOUGHT NOTICE ONLY. This notice does NOT constitute a request for proposal, request for quote, or invitation for bid. No formal solicitation document exists at this time. We are seeking information for market research purposes only. The Government will not pay for any information solicited.

The Government is seeking information for market research purposes only. Your responses to the information requested will assist the Government in determining the appropriate acquisition method. A solicitation is not currently available. The Government may or may not issue solicitation documents. The Department of Veterans Affairs, Veterans Integrated Service Network (VISN 2), is conducting market research for qualified firms, SDVOSB, VOSB or small, that are capable of providing Epredia Revos Tissue Processor with 1-year premium support - brand name or equal to the Syracuse VA Medical Center. Any vendor interested needs to be an authorized reseller, authorized installers and/or manufacturer.

The NAICS is 334516 - Analytical Laboratory Instrument Manufacturing is applicable to this acquisition; with a size standard of 1,000 Employees.

Statement of Work:
Scope of Work

The Pathology and Laboratory Medicine Department at the Syracuse VA Medical Center is looking to purchase 2 units of Epredia Revos Tissue Processor with 1-year support - brand name or equal. The 2 instruments will back up one another if the other malfunctions and requires service.
B. Procurement Requirements/Specifications/Salient Characteristics:

A tissue processor is a device that prepares tissue samples for analysis. It uses different methods to remove water and other substances from the tissue and replace them with a support medium. This allows the tissue to be sectioned and stained without damage or distortion. Tissue processors can also fix, dehydrate, or decalcify the tissue.

Principles of operation:

The instrument s reagent management should track and log reagent usage. It should remember every bottle loaded, protocol executed, and service performed allowing the laboratory to use reagents more efficiently and reduce downtime.

Intended use: The Syracuse AP Laboratory requires that 2 tissue processors be purchased, as both of the current tissue processors are deemed beyond economical repair via Syracuse HTM.

Other pertinent information that describes the item, material or service required:

The instrument also should have a filtration system and down-draft ventilation that prohibits unsafe fumes from reaching laboratory staff.

Processor must provide a safe environment with a filtration system and down-draft ventilation which helps protect laboratory staff by controlling both solvent and formalin fumes.

Processor must have technology that enables the instrument to prevent incorrect replenishment of reagents.

Processor must have capability to process/hold at least 250 blocks/cassettes at one time.

Processor must have the ability to read barcodes for reagents in order to log the date loaded and lot numbers for quality assurance purposes.
Warranty: 1 year manufacturer warranty required

1-year Premium Support must include all replacement parts, labor, and travel expenses for any unscheduled service visit, and a yearly scheduled PM visit.

Training: Training and Installation should be included with the purchase
