ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS
Sealed bids will be received by the CITY OF THOMASVILLE, GEORGIA, in the Office of the City Engineer, 411
West Jackson Street, Thomasville, Georgia, until 10:00 A.M., local time, October 1, 2024, for furnishing of all
materials, labor, equipment and performing all work required for the construction of the 2024 CAMPBELL
STREET CULVERT REPLACEMENT within the CITY OF THOMASVILLE.
x The work includes removing existing cross drain culvert, pipe and headwalls and replacing with a 9’x4’
box culvert with headwalls. The work will also include removing existing driveway pipes with associated
headwalls and replace with piping of the existing ditch along the south side of Campbell Street from the
existing creek to Martin Luther King, Jr. Drive.
Separate bids received will be publicly opened and read in the Office of the City Engineer at 411 West Jackson
Street at 10:00 A.M. local time on the date specified above.
Bidder shall be a certified Georgia Department of Transportation contractor.
The Instructions to Bidders, Bid Form, Form of Contract Agreement, Plans, Specifications, and Forms of Bid Bond,
Performance Bond, Payment Bond and other Contract Documents may be examined at the following:

A complete set of plans, specifications, and bidding documents may be obtained from the City Engineer, 411 West
Jackson Street, P. O. Box 1540, Thomasville, Georgia 31799, upon payment of $100.00. Extra sets of specifications and
bidding documents may be obtained upon payment of $50.00 per set. No refunds will be made. Proposals will not be
considered by Owner unless Bidder is on record as purchasing and receiving complete Bid Documents.
Bids must be accompanied by a Certified Check or Bid Bond in the amount of not less than ten (10) percent of
the Bid, as a guarantee that the Bidder, if awarded the Contract, will within ten (10) days after written notice having been
given of such award, enter into a written contract with the City of Thomasville, Georgia, in accordance with the
accepted proposal. Bids must be sealed and plainly marked 2024 CAMPBELL STREET CULVERT REPLACEMENT
and must be delivered before the time specified.
The bidder shall complete, execute, and submit the following documents f om these contract documents: Section
00410 - Bid Form, Section 00430 - Bid Bond, Section 00450 - Statement of Bidder's Qualifications, Section 00451

Contractor's Oath and Non-collusion Affidavit of Subcontractor as well as supply the City with contractors Unique
Entity ID (UEI) Number which indicates the subrecipient is registered to do business with the federal government.
Bidders are required to review the insurance requirement stated in Section 00730 – Supplementary Conditions of
the contract specifications with their provider to insure all aspects of the requirements can be met.
The majority of the work to be done for this project is stormwater removal and replacement and, with some depths
greater than five feet, and thus does require a Georgia Licensed Utility Contractor to submit a bid.
No proposal will be considered unless it is accompanied by satisfactory evidence that the Bidder holds either a
Georgia State Contractor's License, Georgia State Utility Contractor's License, or qualifications with the Georgia
Department of Transportation for similar work, in compliance with Act. O.C.G.A. 43-14 and 43-41. Failure to provide the
bidder's license or qualification number on the outside of the sealed proposal will result in rejection of the bid
No Bids may be withdrawn after the scheduled closing time for the request of bids for a period of sixty (60) days.
Separate Payment and Performance Bond in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the Contract will be
required.
All bid bonds, performance and payment bonds, insurance contracts, and certificates of insurance shall be either
executed by or counter-signed by a licensed resident agent of the surety or insurance company, having his place of business
in the State of Georgia, and in all ways complying with the insurance laws of the State of Georgia.
The City of Thomasville, Georgia, reserves the right to reject any and all bids, to waive informalities, to re-advertise,
and/or to award the contract in the best interest of the City.
The deadline for receipt of deposit (in the Office of the City Engineer) for plans and specifications to assure delivery
is 3:00 P.M., local time, September 20, 2024.
