Advanced Contract Award Notice / Notice of Proposed Procurement
The University of Calgary (UCalgary) requires the purchase of laboratory animal equipment and accessories from Tecniplast USA. All associated accessories must work exclusively with the existing Tecniplast cages including water bottles, automated bottle recapper, caps, sipper tubes and connection hoses. The UCalgary Health Science Centre Animal Resource Centre (HSARC) is equipped with Tecniplast housing, cleaning and sanitation equipment and houses rodents for preclinical research. Research outcomes require strict control variables. Therefore, HSARC requires Tecniplast equipment and accessories to ensure full compatibility and consistency with the current equipment and processes. Additionally, utilizing the same system throughout the facility provides the researchers with the required consistent animal environment. To maintain full compatibility with the existing infrastructure and meet current and future needs, UCalgary intends to establish a potential five (5) year agreement with Tecniplast USA to purchase all items and future requirements.
