Through the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA), the Small Business Innovation Research office (operated by DECD) has received a Federal and State Technology (FAST) Grant to support various efforts related to increase the number of SBIR/STTR awards from women, socially/economically disadvantaged individuals, and small businesses in underrepresented areas. SBA has approved use of Grant funding for the hire of a FAST Outreach Consultant to do targeted outreach and be primarily responsible for coordination support and implementation of the FAST program administered through Connecticut’s SBIR/STTR program.
