Paint and Painting Supply Materials

The City of Tucson, hereinafter referred to as the "City", is requesting proposals from qualified firms to meet the annual requirements to provide Paint and Painting Supply Materials. Additionally, the resulting contract will support the daily operations of various city departments to include Environmental Services, General Services, and Parks and Recreation. The current estimated annual spend is around $24K.

The City has reserved the right to make multiple awards under this contract to ensure availability of product on an as-needed basis. Multiple awards may be used to source various commercial/industrial and residential paint supplies from a myriad of manufacturers and brands to support dally operations, maintenance and repair of commercial/industrial buildings. Successful vendors will be an authorized source for these supplies and parts.

Painting Services are not included in this solicitation, rather painting services are provided under a separate contract.

Various funding sources will be used. Any projects utilizing HUD funding shall be subject to applicable terms and conditions included as attachments to this RFP. Attachment A includes the HUD terms and conditions. These terms and conditions cannot be modified or negotiated. By submitting a proposal, Offeror agrees to abide by all federal terms and conditions included, Offeror's must submit all required certificates with their proposal submittal. Failure to do so may result in rejection of proposal.

EGSD/FCM has approximately 150 commercial buildings of various size and age and 130 parks throughout the Tucson metropolitan area and is responsible for the continued maintenance and prompt and timely repairs.

HCD has over one thousand eight hundred (1,800) residential housing units scattered throughout the Tucson metropolitan area and beyond. Housing units vary in size, age and occupancy with both single family homes, townhomes, multi-family communities and high rise apartment complexes. How the City acquires the items it buys is at the sole discretion of the City and in some cases is determined by emergency or urgent repair needs. As such, the City is required to provide prompt and timely repairs to commercial buildings, facilities, residential rental units and will require access to storefront inventory regularly. Due to the large geographical area covered, the City needs multiple Contractors who have a strong local presence, a large and diverse inventory, a broad selection of manufacturers and commercial/residential paint and painting supplies to fulfill the primary using departments (EGSD/FCM and HCD) needs. The result of this competitive process will be a qualified vendor list from which City Departments will choose their source of acquisitions.
