Overview
Summary

The Board of Commissioners of Glynn County, Georgia (“the Owner”) seeks proposals from interested qualified firms to complete facility upgrades to Bathhouse #2 at Blythe Island Regional Park. Bathhouse #2 primarily serves guests in the park's campground and includes restrooms and showers.

Background

Blythe Island Regional Park is an 1,100+ acre park developed and managed by Glynn County with the help of Georgia's Department of Natural Resources. Located just 5 minutes from Exit 29 on I-95 between Savannah and Jacksonville, the park is surrounded by attractions such as St. Simons Island, Sea Island, Jekyll Island, wonderful restaurants, great shopping, and award-winning golf courses. The park is maintained by Glynn County Recreation and Parks Department personnel.

Park amenities include 97 RV campsites, 24 primitive campsites, 4 pavilions available for rent, multiple first come-first serve pavilions, a 33-acre freshwater lake for fishing and swimming, two playgrounds including a fully inclusive playground, and a marina with boat launch, saltwater fishing pier, and more. The campground is very popular and serves more than 20,000 guests annually. On an average weekday, the campground is at 50% occupancy. On an average weekend, the occupancy rate increases to 70%. Two bathhouses are located in the RV campground to serve the needs of guests. Bathhouse #1 was recently upgraded with new fixtures, paint, tile, etc. Bathhouse #2 is more than 30 years old and is in need of an upgrade to provide a better camping experience for guests.

This project is supported by the Blythe Island Regional Park Advisory Board and Glynn County Board of Commissioners.
