Aquarium Management Services

The City of Norfolk (the “City”) is accepting proposals from qualified vendors to provide full-charge management of the aquaria and aquatic exhibit features at the Nauticus Museum (“Nauticus”) and the Virginia Zoo (“Zoo”). The vendor (“Contractor”) selected through this solicitation will ensure the health and safety of aquatic animals and zoological animals that require aquatic features in their exhibits, train and monitor Nauticus education staff regarding interim monitoring, testing, feeding, and record keeping procedures, provide 24/7/365 response to all emergency calls, and maintain aquaria, aquatic exhibit features and aquaria support rooms in full compliance with all Occupational Safety and Health Administration (“OSHA”) guidelines.
