The Natick Contracting Directorate is planning to advertise for bids for the renovation and expansion of the dining facilities in Bldg. #1 located at the US Army Natick Soldier Systems Center (NSSC), General Greene Avenue (formerly Kansas St.), Natick, MA, 01760.
The project will consists of all work required for the renovation of the existing cafeteria space. Space from the existing "PX" will be incorporated to add, additional seating to the cafeteria. The overall, existing open space will be reconfigured to improve traffic flow of cafeteria customers. The majority of the work will include demolition, new wing walls, additional seating areas, a new coffee bar, new flooring, wall and ceiling finishes, fixtures, millwork, ceiling systems, lighting, doors, walls, storefront and electrical infrastructure. There is not a sprinkler system in the space, however, the existing fire alarm devices shall be reworked to ensure that they are visible and accessible to the occupants.
The work will need to be phased into three major (and one minor) phases. The Contractor shall provide for protection and separation of spaces during the work. Movement of contractor personnel and material shall not go thru or interrupt occupied cafeteria space and minimize the extent possible noise. Dust barriers shall seal the construction zone and utilities shall not be interrupted during hours of operation by the Cafeteria. Service interruptions shall be coordinated ahead of time. Contractor shall provide for continuous updating of postings on progress of work. Break down, staging and separation of work zones to take place entirely during off hours for the cafeteria.
The period of performance for all work shall be one hundred and forty (140) calendar days from the date the Notice to Proceed (NTP) is issued.
The Army Contracting Command - Aberdeen Proving Ground (ACC-APG) Contracting Center, Natick Contracting Division, Natick, MA, in support of US Army Natick Soldier System Center Garrison is seeking sources who are capable of providing the following services:
1. Construction Management services with Project Management of schedule, budget, coordination and related construction meetings, subcontracting and other related administrative services.
2. Successful experience managing construction services in a compressed schedule with multiple phases in an active food services facility.
3. Proven track record of completion of high quality finishes, millwork, fixture installation and coordination of infrastructure for food service equipment with minimal disruption to adjacent active spaces.
4. Experienced site supervision with the ability to plan, communicate, document, and sequence the work in a complex and phased environment.
5. The ability to work with Government agencies to shepherd a project to meet the required schedule and budget.
6. Command quality work from Contractors staff and subcontractors thru quality assurance and controls.
All work associated with this requirement is located at Natick Soldier System Center (NSSC), 10 General Greene Ave, Natick MA 01760. Companies who are located close to the US Army Natick Soldier Center, located in Natick, MA are desired.
The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this effort is 236220 - Commercial and Institutional Building Construction. The small business size standard is $36.5 Million.
