DRAFT SCOPE OF WORK FOR INDUSTRY REVIEW: Post-Tensioned Tendon Investigation and Repairs, Metro District Bridges

This is a courtesy review opportunity for the industry, for the following project:

The goal of this project is to perform an investigation of a select group of post-tensioned concrete box girder bridges, report findings, develop a remedial plan and conduct some as-authorized grouting repairs. Previous to this contract, each box girder has been inspected and surface (interior and exterior) concrete deficiencies have been logged and mapped. This project is intended to supplement the concrete defect mapping and target concrete elements with embedded tendons. Contractor will document, measure and map post-tensioning system deficiencies, including marking and photographing the deficiencies, identifying grout voids, and assessing the level of corrosion of the PT system in the field for repairs, long-term tracking and monitoring of condition over the service life of each of the bridges.

While industry comments are encouraged, these comments will be used at MnDOT's discretion. No response is guaranteed; no posted response is anticipated. After the review period, MnDOT anticipates posting the final solicitation for official public notice. Submission of questions and/or comments will not be a prerequisite for responding to the resulting solicitation.
