Purpose
UC Hastings College of the Law (UCH) seeks competitive quotations for exterior concrete repair
services to be provided at 100 McAllister Building (the Tower).
Contractor to provide labor and materials as required to repair two specific areas of the North
Elevation exterior as to be shown specifically in the Job Walk. Contractor shall be appropriately
(CSLB & DIR) licensed to perform these services. Jobs equal to or in excess of $25,000.00
require DIR registration.
Contractor to meet UCH insurance requirements & UCH to be named additional insured.
Context
Founded in 1878 as the “law department” of the University of California, UC Hastings College of
the Law was established by the California Legislature with its own Board of Directors. With the
exception of the degree-granting authority held by the UC Board of Regents, all other aspects of
the College are operated independently under the oversight of the UC Hastings Board of
Directors. UC Hastings is the oldest public law school in California and the only stand-alone,
public law school in the nation.
UC Hastings’ reputation for academic excellence, its affiliation with the University of California,
and its location in San Francisco’s downtown Civic Center are major factors contributing to the
overall strength of the institution.
Scope of Work
Remove and replace expansion joint and repair concrete spalling at face of the wall
Remove all loose concrete and prep the rusted steel and concrete as needed
Install foam in the gap between building to maintain the separation between the two
buildings
Treat the rebar with a bonding primer and reinforcement corrosion epoxy
Form and patch the concrete using a polymer modified cementitious concrete patching
material
Prime and paint patched area to match existing as close as possible

Current and active CSLB license (appropriate classification for the work) for Vendor and
any subcontractor(‘s)
DIR registration for jobs equal to or greater than $25,000.00 total
