mcpherson, inc. manufactures instruments and systems for spectroscopy through the optical electromagnetic spectrum. we design and build tools that measure the frequency and intensity of light wavelengths / rays with good spectral resolution over a wide free range. mcpherson instruments are available for teaching, physics and astronomy applications through the x ray, vacuum, uv, visible and infrared (ir, including mwir and lwir) wavelengths. vacuum and ultra high vacuum (uhv) models are available in most designs. mcpherson delivers laboratory spectrometers for fiber optic, raman, reflectance, transmittance and absorbance. our imaging spectrographs are for plasma diagnostics and optical monitoring. for broadband, full spectrum, color and spectral line instruments consider our monochromator spectral test stations. in addition, our applied systems to meter detector response, and analyze lighting, filters, glass and chemicals or control (ultraviolet or full spectrum) radiation generated from light sources. we like to offer workstations to allow your spectrum determination and analysis in the teaching and research science lab. we offer unique light measuring tools like the quartz prism monochromator and novel accessories like broadband, spectrally agile reflective telescopes to complement your system. we also repair and recondition used spectrometers and monochromators (built by mcpherson, inc.)
