Summary

The County of Greenville is seeking proposals from qualified firms to provide Insurance Brokerage Services for its Workers Compensation, Liability, Property and Casualty Insurance Services for Commercial Insurance Products. The successful Broker shall provide Insurance Brokerage, Insurance Administration, Loss Control and other related Miscellaneous Services to Greenville County. The Broker would become the "Broker/Agent-of-Record" to secure Greenville County's Workers Compensation, Liability, Property and Casualty Insurance. The County desires to enter into a One {1) Year Contract with the possibility of Four {4) Annual Renewals.

Background

Greenville County is the most Populous County in the State of South Carolina, with a population of over 500,000, and continues to grow faster than any other County in the State. Greenville County employs approximately 2,800 personnel, and provides a full range of government services, including: Law Enforcement, Judicial System, Health Services, Social Services, Emergency Medical Transport, Infrastructure Construction and Maintenance, Animal Control, Comprehensive Planning, and more.

The Risk Management Operations is under the leadership of the Director of Human Resources. A Risk Manager administers the day-to-day activities of insurance and other risk management services. Additionally, the County employs a Workers Compensation Coordinator responsible for daily workers compensation claims services; and a Safety Technician, responsible for Safety and OSHA Compliance.

Greenville County is self-insured for Workers Compensation with an Excess Carrier. Currently the SIR is $750,000. A Third Party Administer (TPA) is used to administer the Workers Compensation Claims Process.

Greenville County is currently insured for a majority of its Property and Liability Exposures through the South Carolina Fiscal Accountability Authority Insurance Reserve Fund. Other lines of business are insured via Direct Placement. At this time, under this contract, Direct Placement is the only lines of consideration.
