NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the County of San Mateo Project Development Unit is seeking responses from qualified General Contractors holding a valid California B license to submit their qualifications for construction services for the new Pescadero Fire Station #59 (Project).
The Project scope of work includes the construction of a new single-story Fire Station located at 350 Butano Cutoff Road, in Pescadero California. The new 12,300 square foot station features an apparatus bay, dormitories, living spaces and offices. The construction includes a mat foundation supported by deep soil mixing (DSM). The roof will be cross laminated timber. The DSM piers, fire water tank, trusses and fire sprinkler system will be delegated design to be procured and managed by the General Contractors.
Qualifications will be received until 2:30 p.m. October 27, 2025, at the County of San Mateo Project Development Unit located at 500 County Center, 5th Floor, Redwood City CA 94063. The selection process will be Design-Bid-Build Best Value. Only General Contractors pre-qualified through this request for statements of qualification process will be invited to submit a bid proposal. Qualification packages which describe the general scope of services and requirements of the submission of qualifications can be obtained through the County’s OpenGov online portal at www.OpenGov.org .

All Bidders must have and maintain General Contractor “B” Class contractor’s license in order for their bids to be considered responsive. This is a Prevailing Wage Rate project subject to compliance, monitoring, and enforcement. Respondents must be Dept. of Industrial Relations (DIR) registered at time of submitting the bid.
The County will evaluate submissions in accordance with evaluation criteria established in this RFSOQ. The County of San Mateo Project Development Unit reserves the right to reject any and all proposals, to waive any informality, to reject portions of the proposals, to waive technicalities and to award.
