Overview

Summary

The City of Bell is seeking Proposals for OPEN STREETS EVENT COORDINATOR AND MANAGEMENT SERVICES to be submitted through the e-Procurement Portal at https://procurement.opengov.com/portal/cityofbell , no later than 4:00 pm on Thursday, March 19, 2026 .

Background

The City of Bell and Maywood are partnering to host a regional Open Streets event on June 20, 2026. This collaborative effort will connect all four cities along a dedicated, car-free route that encourages walking, biking, and community activity while promoting local businesses, public health, and regional unity. Activity hubs will be placed throughout the corridor to highlight each city’s unique character and provide family-friendly programming and resources.

Coordinating a multi-city event presents challenges, including aligning traffic control and street closures across four jurisdictions, ensuring consistent public safety and emergency access, securing funding and sponsorships, and coordinating staffing, outreach, and communication with residents and businesses along the route. Despite these challenges, the event represents a strong partnership opportunity to create a connected, vibrant experience that brings the four communities together.
