SECOND ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS
Pursuant to Section 143-132 of the General Statutes of North Carolina, if after advertisement for bids as required by N.C.G.S. 143-129, not as many as three competitive bids have been received from reputable and qualified contractors regularly engaged in their respective lines of endeavor, said board or governing body of the State agency or of a county, city, town or other subdivision of the State shall again advertise for bids; and if as a result of such second advertisement, not as many as three competitive bids from reputable and qualified contractors are received, such board or governing body may then let the contract to the lowest responsive, responsible bidder submitting a bid for such project, even though only one bid is received.
Therefore, the following is a re-advertisement for bids for the 2025-26 Street Resurfacing Project for the City of Lexington Street Department with a new opening date of Tuesday, September 2, 2025, 2:30p.m. EDT.
ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS
Pursuant to Section 143-129 of the General Statutes of North Carolina, sealed proposals for the furnishing of materials, labor and equipment for the construction of the 2025-26 Street Resurfacing Project will be received on or before 2:30 p.m. EDT, on Tuesday, September 2, 2025, in the office of the Public Services Director, Mike Horney at the City of Lexington City Hall, 28 W. Center Street, Lexington, North Carolina 27292 at which time and place bids will be opened and read aloud. Electronic bids will not be accepted.

± 3,989 TN Double Fiber Reinforced Asphalt Surface Course S9.5C
± 1,368 TN 1” ARMI
± 29,864 SY Asphalt Pavement Milling
± 662 SY Variable Depth Asphalt Pavement Milling (2.0” – 5.0”)
Including but not limited to: adjustment of manholes and water valves, concrete flatwork, and all other associated work. The quantities displayed above are estimates.

A MANDATORY pre-bid meeting will be held on Thursday August 14th, 2025, at 10:30 am to discuss the project requirements and expectations via Microsoft Teams Meeting. Meeting details are on page 00200-1(Invitation to Bid) of the project manual.

Last day for questions is Monday, August 18 by 5:00pm and the answers to all question and any addenda will be available by Tuesday, August 19 by 5:00pm.
