NOTICE TO CONTRACTORS

Engineer's Estimate: $63,000

The City of Arcata (City) is soliciting bids for the Carlson Park Storage Building Project. The Project includes site preparation and installation of a storage building at Carlson Park in Arcata, California.

The Work consists of some minor site grading and concrete work, and the installation of an Owner supplied, 110 square foot Concrete Masonry Unit (CMU) building at Carlson Park, located at 5285 Carlson Park Drive in Arcata, California.

Projected duration of this project is September 28, 2026, through November 1, 2026.

Proposals will be received at the City Manager’s Office, 736 F Street, Arcata, California until 4 PM on Wednesday, September 9, 2026. Proposals must be submitted within a sealed envelope labeled: “Carlson Park Storage Building Project.” All responses must be made on the Bid Proposal and Schedule provided in Attachment B to be considered for award.  A bind bond will not be required for this Project but payment and performance bonds will be required from the awarded contractor.  The Request for Bids Package for this Work can be obtained on the City’s website, www.cityofarcata.org under “Bid.”

Contractors must possess either a Class “B” or Class “C-8” Concrete Contractor’s License, possess a valid Business License from the City of Arcata prior to commencing work, and demonstrate the necessary qualifications to complete the work described in the Scope of Work in Attachment A. The selected contractor will enter into a construction contract (Attachment C - Sample Construction Contract) prior to commencing work.

The City of Arcata has determined that prevailing wages apply to this Project. The selected contractor must be registered with the State Department of Industrial Relations pursuant to Labor Code Section 1725.5 to be eligible to bid on this Project.
