Dining Master Plan Implementation

Appalachian State University is seeking qualifications from design firms to provide advance planning services for campus dining projects in alignment with the University's Campus Master Plan and specifically with the Dining Master Plan. The selected designer will establish a uniform identity across campus dining facilities and operations, helping develop creative solutions to balance needs across campus.?? Project construction is expected to be phased over summers from 2026 to 2030. Phase 1, an initial $4.5M project, includes a renovation of the kitchen and servery area in Plemmons Student Union to provide a commissary kitchen and the creation of a new market at Thunder Hill Residence Hall. Capital project authorization is pending approval for Phase 1. The selected firm will provide design and construction administration services for this project. The selected firm will be retained through full design and construction for additional project phases at the university's option.
