Summary:The purpose of this RFP is to solicit proposals with the intent to enter into a contract through competitive negotiations for the professional services of an Architectural/Engineering firm, authorized to do business in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
Experience in renovation of historic buildings and the infrastructure located within them. The AE selected will provide for the complete renovation of the approximate 41,572 GSF Virginia Hall Building and the adjoined approximate 19,815 GSF, 1300 seat Anderson Turner Auditorium.
Interior renovations will address critical systems at this facility including HVAC improvements and replacements, installation of building automation controls, steam system repairs, domestic water distribution repairs, electrical system renewals, replacement of wood windows, improvements to life safety systems, and replacement of finishes. Likewise, the Anderson Turner Auditorium will be renovated to include new fixed seating and audiovisual systems that can facilitate both assemblies and distance learning. A new security system will be added to provide access control and surveillance cameras. Exterior repairs will include repointing the masonry exterior walls, replacing rotted wood trim, repainting wood trim, abatement of asbestos and lead containing caulk and paint, replacement of exterior doors and hardware, replacement of exterior lighting and restoration of foundation walls and exterior paved stairways.
