| Description: | Alamance Community College (ACC) seeks to contract with a qualified consulting firm to assist ACC in collaborating with Randolph Community College and Guilford Technical Community College in providing workforce training to support advanced manufacturing in the region. The eastern region of the NC Triad has welcomed several new large advanced manufacturing firms and expects continued growth in this area. In order to meet the expected workforce needs, leverage the investment in the region, and optimize the growth opportunity, the above-named community colleges seek an assessment of the training needs and the potential for a new model of collaboration among the three (3) community colleges that incorporate processes for input from industry partners. The deliverables would consist of two (2) parts: 1) a detailed list of positions and needed skills by industry with a capabilities gap analysis and ranking of significance of need; and 2) analysis of the potential for a Triad East Center for Advanced Technology (TECAT) training facility, recommended collaborative governance, and recommended location to optimally serve the growing and dynamic industries in and establishing in the region. |
