The Port of Seattle (Port) has implemented a Construction Safety Program to manage the unique challenges in completing construction activities without impact to Port operations while maintaining excellent construction site safety. In addition, recent court decisions have increased the requirements for owners to assure that construction is done in a safe manner. The increased level of activity with the changing safety liability environment makes it incumbent on the Port to have a pro-active Construction Safety Program to monitor and enhance construction site safety.
