where such proposals will be publicly opened and read aloud. Proposals may be hand delivered or mailed to the above location and must be received at such time.

Scope of work is to include all necessary labor, material, and equipment for the Weiskotten Hall Addition (WHA) Electrical Equipment Upgrades.

The main features of the work shall include, but not be limited to the following:

Electrical:

• Replacement and modernization of existing electrical infrastructure in the Weiskotten Hall Addition (WHA), NAB and Sliverman Buildings.
• In WHA replace 5kV MV switches (SS#4, SS#5, SS#6 & NAB) with new S&C custom switchgear with VISTA distributions ‘SSVS-1’ & ‘SSVS-2’, extension of existing 5kV MV feeders, replacement of step-down transformers (SS#4, SS#5 & SS#6) with new and associated HVLcc switches.
• In WHA replace existing 120/208V and 277/480V switchgear with new 120/208V, 4000A, 3-Phase, 4-Wire and 277/480V, 4000A, 3-Phase, 4-Wire Main-Tie-Main switchgear equipment.
• Furnish and install new step-down transformer SS#7 to supply one side of Main-Tie-Main 120/208V switchgear.
• In WHA furnish and install new 800A automatic transfer switch to replace existing allowing for space to install new electrical switchgear equipment.
• In WHA replace existing circuit breaker in emergency distribution board serving fire pump with new 800A.
• In WHA replace distribution panels ‘DLR’, ‘PP5’, ‘DVR’, ‘EDN, ‘DPNR’, ‘DER’, ‘DPMR’, ‘DPSR’, ‘EDS’ with new.
• Furnish and install normal and emergency conduit system with associated wiring between electric MV, 120/208V, 277/480V switchgear, distribution boards, ATS, panelboards, etc.
• In WHA replace existing vertical aluminum riser conductors with copper utilizing existing wire troughs.
• In WHA furnish and install feeders, panels and equipment in electrical closets on upper floors.
• In manhole MH-NA eliminate existing splice serving Clark Hall, Campus Activity and Jacobsen Hall buildings and supply them from new SSVS-1 MV distribution.
• In NAB building replace existing 5kV switch with new duplex HVLcc switch and install new 5kV feeders from SSVS-1 and SSVS-2 MV distributions in WHA. New duplex HVLcc shall supply existing 1000kVA step-down transformer.
• For Silverman building, install new 5kV feeder from SSVS-2 in WHA, 750kVA outdoor pad mount step-down transformer and new distribution board to supply existing loads in the building.
• Provide temporary distribution boards, panelboards, feeders, etc. as indicated on the design documents.
• Schedule all outages with Upstate Medical University.
• Provide temporary power to areas affected by power interruptions
• Transfer feeders to new distribution as called for on contract documents.
• Installation and removal of temporary required to maintain full functionality of the building during feeder cut overs and outages.

General Construction:

• Selective demolition of existing walls floors and site work. The contractor will be responsible for coordinating all work indicated on contract documents with owner and SUCF.
• Construction of new 2-hour rated partitions, doors and soffits as indicated on the design documentation.

Structural:

• Construction of new supports for conduit banks.
• Construction of new concrete pads for floor mount electrical equipment.
• Construction of new outdoor transformer pad to supply Silverman building.

Asbestos Abatement:

• Abatement of sheetrock with ACM joint compound and disposal of presumed asbestos containing electrical equipment.

All work on this Contract is to be completed within 180 days after the date of the Notice to Proceed.

Section 143 of the State Finance Law requires payment of a deposit to receive these documents. Accordingly, a deposit check of $49.50 made payable to SUNY Upstate Medical University , is required. Deposits less than $50.00 are nonrefundable. Deposits will be waived for certified Minority and Women Owned and Service-Disabled Veteran Owned Businesses.

A pre-bid conference and project walk-through will be held on Friday, November 15, 2024, at 10:00 AM with all contractors assembled at the Main Lobby of Weiskotten Hall, 766 Irving Ave, Syracuse, New York.
