Complete Replacement of engine due to bent connecting rod by dropping a valve in cylinder #2 (Catastrophic Engine Failure). Get fire engine up and operational as efficiently and quickly as possible to help with emergency response to fires.

3.The rationale or circumstances for limiting competition.

The asset needs to be repaired with urgency due to it limiting the response capability of the home fire unit. Through Market Research it was discovered that Deranged Diesel has had multiple engine rebuilds with this particular model, they have confirmed parts availability and prompt service. There are no other Small Business within the area of the breakdown that can carry out the repairs needed.
