Invitation to Bid
Thorhild Lodge was built in 1971 and provides housing for 41 lodge residents. Homeland Housing wants to improve the safety and security of this building for the residents and the staff due to its remote rural location and minimal staffing in the evening, night and weekends. In order to accomplish this the existing nurse call system (Spider System) requires to be upgraded as it is over 20 years old, is no longer supported and parts are difficult to source. In addition, door intercom, door security/monitoring and door access (Fob) will be included to this system. This system will be able to take information from multiple inputs and convert it and convert it into messages/actions.

This Project intention for this facility is to ensure a system is installed to industry standards that will replace our existing nurse call system and include perimeter door security monitoring system. Although we also would like to upgrade our door security by the use of Fob access on perimeter doors that are primarily used by either or both of Residents and/or Staff. Another security feature that is requested to be included, is an intercom located on the exterior by two access points of entry (Front Entrance and Back Entrance or Kitchen Entrance areas) that is monitored by new security cameras. The last component that will be one of the key essential component of this system will be the multiple inputs communicating to staff via a cordless/handheld phone device that will provide all of the essential messaging to such device and to multiple devices (new phone system) to ensure the residents of this facility are cared upon promptly. Finally, the main factor is for a system to be maintenance free with minimal to zero issues once programmed and in use. The service response once implemented will be extremely important to provide immediate service response on any system failures or troubles with the system in any way.
