RFP 24-023_ #GA 0013942 Mobile Community Engagement Hub Upfitting

The selected vendor will work with the Brookhaven Police Community Engagement Unit (CEU) to develop and build a Mobile Community Engagement Hub for deployment in Brookhaven. This Hub will be fitted from a Ford Econoline van used by Community Engagement Officers to go out into the community and develop relationships through street outreach with at-risk youth. Community Engagement Officers will drive the Mobile Community Engagement Hub into areas identified as high crime areas or hot spot calls for police service to work with at-risk youth. This will provide a needed distraction and purpose to steer youth away from crime and foster positive interactions with police officers. The at-risk youth contacted will be invited to participate in more significant events where the cost of admission is to learn and develop conflict resolution and interpersonal skills needed to thrive in the community. To provide at-risk youth with the necessary tools to continue developing the skills taught, Brookhaven Police will develop online tools and resources for all at-risk youth to use to provide strategies for an anti-violence lifestyle.
