Description

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention intends to award a sole source firm-fixed-price purchase order to Hitachi High-Tech America, Inc. for a maintenance service agreement for the Hitachi S4800I field-emission scanning electron microscope.



The field emission scanning electron microscope (FE-SEM) was designed and built by Hitachi. Hitachi possesses the specialized knowledge necessary to provide preventative maintenance and repairs of the electron microscope. Hitachi is capable of providing immediate replacements parts and emergency repair service. Hitachi has proprietary rights to the S4800I FE-SEM instrument, its parts and service.



This contract action is for supplies or services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b) and 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1). Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals/quotes.



This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations; however, all responses received within the issuance of this notice will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. Any responses or quotations should be emailed to the Contracting Officer, Serina Allingham xog9@cdc.gov by 4:30 p.m. EST on January 13, 2025. Any questions should be emailed to the Contracting Officer by January 13, 2025 at 12:00 p.m. EST.
