US ARMY HERITAGE AND EDUCATION CENTER DIGITIZATION
Description
The end state is to have the USAHEC's archival collections digitized and rendered in TIFF and PDF digital documents with 400 PPI and meeting FADGI 3* quality. However, several linkages must be accomplished before this end state is achieved. Documents must be removed from the archives, reviewed for CUI and classified material, go through minimal archival preservation processing (foldering, removal of fasteners, etc.), barcoding, the creation of metadata, scanning, the return of the physical collections, the creation of the digital products, the transfer of digital products to AWS S3, and then the movement from AWS S3 to the USAHEC collection management system for availability in the public user interface.
