The Department of Veteran Affairs, VISN 01, VA Boston Healthcare System due to numerous factors has a requirement increasing our initial stock.  We have increased the number of procedures that we are doing for the TAVR and we must have a par level of items on the shelf.  Once this order is placed then it is replenished through Prosthetics as it is an implant.
TAVR is minimally invasive, which means it uses smaller incisions than open-heart valve surgery. It may be an option for people who can't have heart surgery to replace the aortic valve. TAVR can help reduce chest pain, shortness of breath and other symptoms of aortic valve stenosis
