Project Description

One-Two Sentences
NC Central University seeks Commissioning services for five (5) distinct HVAC and BAS Upgrade projects on campus: 1. School of Education HVAC and BAS ($14M, now in SD/DD), 2. Turner Law HVAC and BAS ($10M, now in CD), 3. Walker Complex HVAC and BAS ($14M, now in SD/DD), 4. Mary Townes & BRITE HVAC and BAS - Phase 1 ($15M, now moving into SD/DD) and 5. Mary Townes & BRITE HVAC and BAS - Phase II ($8M, now in Programming). As all projects are similar in scope (upgrade of top-priority HVAC components and BAS replacement), we are combining the Commissioning Agent selection process into one effort; however, each commissioning contract will be awarded separately. By submitting qualifications, firms are indicating interest in all five projects and will have the opportunity to win one or more contracts. In addition to the standard Commissioning scope of services, NCCU also desires CxA review of DD and CD design packages and CA submittals for technical strength and conformance with Campus Design Guidelines. Submissions should include Letters of Interest and SF-330 Parts I and II (no page limit, no external links). No Pre-Submittal meeting will be held. **Submittals are due by 3:00PM 4/14/2026.** Only electronic submittals will be accepted: Email PDF to: Sarah Towles, Project Manager smtowles@northcarolina.edu. Shortlists will be announced by email on 4/16/2026. 45-minute virtual interviews will be held in the morning on 4/23/2026. Selections will be announced after the NCCU BOT approves. For fairness, please contact only the Project Manager for any matters related to this submittal. No other NCCU staff, Board of Trustees, or other officials are to be contacted other than the Project Manager. Thank you for your interest.
