RFP for Media and Public RelationsConsultant
Description:
By serving as the connector of the past, present and the future for the historic neighborhoods within the Corridor and beyond, the Michigan Street African American Heritage Corridor Commission (MSAAHCC) endeavors to integrate the African American cultural significance and impact on Buffalo’s history through public engagement, community education that will invigorate, inspire, and enliven cultural appreciation, preservation, and community development.
Two of the core values that serve as guiding principles of our work and how we operate as a Commission as we continue to advocate for the Heritage Corridor include:
-
Ensuring that the Heritage Corridor is recognized regionally, nationally, and internationally as a thriving livable community.
-
Advocating for the interest of the individual Founding Cultural Anchors (FCA) within the Corridor. Our FCAs include the Michigan Street Baptist Church, the Rev. J. Edward Nash House, the Colored Musicians Club and Museum, and the WUFO Radio Black Radio History Collective.
The Media and Public Relations Consultant will develop and facilitate for the MSAAHCC a comprehensive one-year progressive media and public relations plan that will successfully market and promote the Heritage Corridor and the FCA. This plan will incorporate both MSAAHCC and FCA branding, special events, general promotional advertising, fundraising and development, community events and public relations per the vision and direction of the MSAAHCC.
