Mass Notification Software Upgrade

The goal of the RTD Mass Notification System Upgrade Project is to replace the existing ReadyOp system with a modern, fully integrated platform that enhances emergency and operational communication across RTD’s bus dispatch and rail operations, transit police, and emergency management teams. The new system will support automated notifications, role-based access, multi-channel messaging (SMS, email, Public Address, radio), and real-time acknowledgment tracking to improve response coordination and compliance.
Key components of the project include seamless integration with Workday for automated personnel updates, Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) and Public Address (PA) system compatibility, and customizable notification workflows based on incident severity (Red, Yellow, Department-Specific). The implementation will follow a phased approach with contractor responsibilities including system setup, integration, user training, and ongoing support. Security and compliance will be a priority, requiring data protection for Personally Identifiable Information (PII) and security-sensitive notifications, audit logging, and retention policies. This project will streamline mass notifications, reduce manual workloads, and enhance RTD’s ability to respond to emergencies efficiently.
