Project Description: The City of Vineyard invites qualified contractors to submit proposals for the Construction Contract known as the “Design-Construct Beach Volleyball Court at Lakefront Waterfront”, located at approximately N 300 W and W Vineyard Loop Road, between N 300 W and the Utah Lake Shore Trail (Lat/Long: 40°18'27.7"N 111°45'46.4"W) in Vineyard, Utah 84059 (Attachment A ‘Site Location Map’).
The selected contractor would perform all design work, and furnish all labor, materials, equipment, and services necessary to construct one regulation-sized sand volleyball court (52.5’ x 26.25’, plus a 10 ft no-play, free zone for spectators around the play area) at the designated location. The work must conform to the specifications and drawings provided (Attachment D ‘Site Construction Drawings’) and all applicable codes and standards.
The Work generally consists of, but is not limited to:
• Site Preparation & Grading: Clear existing vegetation, rough-grade to subgrade elevations, and install erosion/sediment controls per the drawings.
• Base & Drainage: Place and compact a 6" untreated base course and install the specified subsurface drainage system .
• Sand Surfacing: Furnish and spread washed, natural sand to a minimum 12" depth across the court, meeting USAV competition standards.
• Edging & Containment: Provide volleyball court boundaries with weather-resistant lines secured in place using plate anchors. Install concrete perimeter edging to retain the sand layer. Install a fence (minimum 3 feet tall) surrounding the sand volleyball court for the purposes preventing volleyballs from rolling onto the adjacent trail or Utah Lake, and deterring wildlife from entering the sand volleyball court. The intent is to provide court boundary definition without restricting public access to Utah Lake or impacting wildlife corridors.
• Net System & Posts: Provide and install volleyball posts, anchors, and net, fully assembled and ready for play (work with Vineyard’s Parks & Rec Director to finalize which volleyball court equipment to purchase).
Site Amenities & Restoration: Connect an ADA-compliant concrete walkway to the existing path, and restore turf/landscaping in disturbed areas with a native seed mix (approved in advance by Vineyard City’s Parks & Rec Director).
Project construction is anticipated to commence in March 2026 and be completed by the end of April, 2026.
