The District seeks proposals from qualified firms to provide labor and materials required for the installation, testing, documentation and acceptance of the various components required in a cabling system from qualified, licensed, and insured firms to provide structured cabling services on an on-going, as-needed basis across various school facilities. Offerors shall have a high level of competency and a minimum of five years' experience designing, procuring, installing, testing, documenting, repairing, and maintaining structured cabling systems and networked distribution services. Services may include but are not limited to, proposals for the labor and materials required for the installation, testing, documentation, and acceptance of the various components required in a cabling system.
Through this Request for Proposal (RFP), Chesapeake Public Schools (hereafter “District”) is seeking to identify one or more offerors who can most fully meet the needs of the District as specified in this document and any associated attachments.
This RFP establishes the general specifications for a “universal” structured cabling system that will support virtually all industry standards relative to LAN/WAN networks, data/voice/video communications, and security systems and In-Building distributed Antenna Systems allow multi-vendor compatibility on shared media to meet the telecommunication distribution system needs of the District. The objective of this solicitation is to secure multiple contractors that can offer comprehensive solutions to install, upgrade, and maintain structured cabling systems and In-building DAS that support the district's communication and data transmission needs effectively and efficiently and enhance the infrastructure that will support current and future technology initiatives within the District.
