SECTION 1 - INTRODUCTION
The City of Brandon is requesting sealed bids for the purchase of one (1) new, unused
current production Mini Hydraulic Excavator.
Manufacturer names referenced are for establishing the desired level of quality and
performance only. Equivalent equipment meeting or exceeding these specifications will be
considered.
The City of Brandon reserves the right to waive any information or irregularities, to accept
any bid deemed to be in the best interest of the City, or to reject any or all bids.

SECTION 4 - INSTRUCTIONS TO BIDDERS
1. Each item listed in the specifications is a minimum requirement. Bidders must furnish descriptive
literature, manufacturer certifications, and verification data. All non-conforming items must be explained
in the "Exceptions" section.
SECTION 5 - MINIMUM TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS
1.1. Machine Requirements
General:
1.1.1. New, unused, current production mini hydraulic excavator.
1.1.2. Machine shall be approximately a six (6) metric ton class excavator.
1.1.3. Operating weight shall be approximately 14,500 to 16,500 pounds.
1.1.4. Conventional tail swing or reduced tail swing configuration shall be acceptable.
1.1.5. EPA Tier 4 Final diesel engine.
1.1.6. Minimum net engine output of 55 horsepower.
1.1.7. Automatic engine idle reduction.
1.1.8. Automatic engine shutdown protection.
1.1.9. Engine monitoring system with visual and audible warnings.
1.1.10. Fuel tank shall be lockable.
1.2. Hydraulic System Requirements
Hydraulic Performance:
1.2.1. Load-sensing hydraulic system.
1.2.2. Variable displacement hydraulic pumps.
1.2.3. Auxiliary hydraulic flow adjustable from the operator display.

1.11. Delivery Requirements
1.11.1. Machine shall arrive fully assembled and operational.
1.11.2. All fluids shall be filled to operating levels.
1.11.3. Factory pre-delivery inspection completed.
1.11.4. Complete operator, maintenance, and parts manuals shall be provided.
1.11.5. Minimum four (4) ignition keys shall be provided.
1.11.6. On-site operator familiarization and training shall be included.
1.12 Service and Support Requirements
1.12.1. Bidder shall provide the location and distance of the nearest authorized sales, service,
warranty, and parts facility.
1.12.2. Preference may be given to bidders with an authorized service facility located within 200
miles of Brandon, Mississippi.
1.12.3. Bidder shall provide the number of certified field service technicians available for support.
1.12.4. Bidder shall identify average parts availability and estimated response time for warranty
service.
1.12.5. Bidder shall identify emergency field service capabilities.
Any items that do not conform to the specifications listed shall be explained
in detail in an "Exceptions to Bid Specifications" section (SECTION 6)
included as part of the bid form submittal.
