The Minnesota Department of Health intends to enter an agreement with Remel Inc for the purchase of custom dried minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) susceptibility Staphylococcus panels.
This has been deemed a single source, as Remel Inc is the sole provider of these custom panels. Testing with these panels have only been validated (per Federal regulations) by our laboratory for use with the Remel/TREK Sensititre System. These custom produced panels are the only panels which can be used to perform the aforementioned testing. The ordering, procurement, and utilization of these panels is required to fulfill the responsibilities and timeline set forth for the MDH Public Health Laboratory in the cooperative agreement with the Centers of Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
