, which motion was seconded by Supervisor
, to adopt the
following resolution, to-wit:
RE: RESOLUTION TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR HAULING OF SOLID WASTE TO
MUNICIPAL SOLID WASTE LANDFILL DISPOSAL SITE
WHEREAS, Walthall County has need of contracting the hauling of solid waste to a
municipal solid waste landfill disposal site, and
WHEREAS, it would be in the best interests of Walthall County, Mississippi and its people
that advertisement be made for the rates of hauling of municipal solid waste.
IT IS THEREFORE, ORDERED AND RESOLVED that the Clerk of this Board be
authorized and directed to cause to be published in the Tylertown Times, in the manner provided by
law, the following notice, to-wit:

ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS
The Walthall County, Mississippi Board of Supervisors will receive sealed bids until 10:00
o'clock A.M., on Monday, June 1, 2026, and will open such bids as soon thereafter as conveniently
possible for the rates of hauling of municipal solid waste from the proposed Walthall County
Transfer Station to a permitted municipal solid waste landfill disposal site for a period of time not
to exceed four (4) years. All bids should state the rate of hauling on a “per ton” basis and a “per
mile” basis. All bids should state the rate of hauling for approximately 140 mile round trip and also
approximately 160 mile round trip.
Additional specifications may be obtained upon request from the Board of Supervisors of
Walthall County, Mississippi. The Board of Supervisors reserves the right to reject any or all bids
received.
SO RESOLVED, on this the 4th day of May, 2026.
