1. Purpose & Scope
The City of Urbandale is seeking proposals from qualified safety consulting or technical
training firms to deliver onsite, OSHA-compliant safety training for chainsaws (non-
logging) and chipper safety for our parks staff.
2. Training Requirements
* Location: Onsite at our facility: Urbandale, Iowa.
* Audience: Approximately 12 staff.
* Core Curriculum:
Classroom/theoretical instruction (PPE, chainsaw features, operation and

handling, maintenance and fueling, hazard mitigation).
Hands-on practical tree felling.

3. Proposal Submission Requirements
Please include in your response:
* Program Syllabus: A summary of the course curriculum and the estimated duration
per session.
* All-Inclusive Pricing: Total cost structure broken down by flat daily rates, per-
student fees, and any applicable travel expenses.
* Scheduling Availability: Training dates that are available in April & May 2027.
4. Timeline
* RFP Issue Date: September 28, 2027
* Proposal Submission Deadline: November 1, 2026, by 5:00 PM CST
* Target Training Execution: April or May 2027
