NOTICE OF INTENT TO SOLE SOURCE

The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey (PANYNJ) intends to establish a sole

source contract with Honeywell International, Inc. , located in Charlotte, NC, to provide the following:

SCOPE: Maintenance of Ground Based Augmentation System (GBAS) at Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR).

BRIEF DESCRIPTION: Port Authority has deployed Honeywell International Inc. (Honeywell) SmartPath at Newark Liberty International Airport, which is Honeywell’s Ground Based Augmentation System (GBAS). This system will require continued annual maintenance in order to maintain FAA certification and support services during any system alerts. To ensure compatibility, to facilitate integration with the existing system, to reduce operation and maintenance costs, and to maintain single source maintenance responsibilities, it is necessary to retain service and acquire equipment from Honeywell.
