This is a SOURCES SOUGHT ANNOUNCEMENT ONLY. The purpose of this sources sought is for market research to
gain knowledge of potential sources for future needs including interested small business sources. This notice is for
planning purposes only. All interested parties should respond.
Kansas Air National Guard, McConnell AFB, will soon be soliciting for a project for the Air Park Pond Aeration. The work shall consist of but not be limited to subsurface aeration installation at the Air Park pond. The project needs to include the following:
Install Rotary Vane Compressor cabinet on a foundation with bolts, adjacent to the sidewalk around reflection pond.
Cut sidewalk and break up a 24” wide section for removal.
Dig trench under sidewalk and core out the wall larger to pass 4 air hoses through - a minimum of 4 inches.
Install a 6” pipe under the sidewalk and adjacent to the existing valve cover.
Couple a 6” elbow and use 4” drain conduit to stub it up adjacent to the electricals in the valve box through the side, and to the back of the steel cabinet on the concrete pad.
Replace valve cover with a new, larger unit.
Fill in the trench and assemble the lengths of weighted airline connected to manifold valve assembly in cabinet.
Via watercraft, distribute subsurface double diffusers across the pond, with weighted airlines attached to the diffusers. Test diffusers with valves. The contractor will be responsible for disposal of debris.
Concrete: Pour reinforced concrete pad with (4) zinc threaded rod, sized for soundproof locking steel cabinet, installed on leveled foundation adjacent to sidewalk around pond. A minimum of 4,000 psi concrete will be used.
Electrical: Use existing 120V electrical at the site.
Equipment: Concrete handheld cut-off saw, coring power drill.
Materials: Pro-spec large valve cover and bolt, 6” pipe, 6” elbow, 4” corrugated drainpipe, 100’ x 3/4” poly pipe, fan-cooled locking cabinet, (4) 10” double diffusers, PA75AD ¾ hp rotary vane compressor with 4 zone manifold assembly, and ½” ID Quick Sink Tubing.
For this requirement, the small business size standard is $45 million for NAICS 237110. In the event small business contractors are not avaialble for adequate competition for this project, it may be advertised as unrestricted.
