|
The Bristol Board of Water Commissioners is seeking bids for emergency construction services, permanent patching of utility trenches, and other related work at various locations within the City of Bristol, to be provided on an as-needed basis for the period through December 31, 2026. Bid documents may be obtained electronically for a $15.00 fee payable to QuestCDN.
Bids will be accepted until June 3, 2025 at 1:00 pm. Bids received after the opening date and time will not be considered for award. The City reserves the right to waive any informalities in the bid, to reject any or all bids, and to accept the bid that in its judgment is in its best interest.
Firms submitting bids must be pre-qualified with the State of Connecticut Department of Administrative Services (“DAS”) to perform sitework, and shall include with their bid a copy of a current certificate as issued by DAS. Additionally, any contractor or subcontractor performing any work on this contract must be pre-qualified with DAS to perform said services, and shall include with their bid a copy of a current certificate as issued by DAS.
Each bid shall be accompanied by a Bid Security in the amount of 10,000.00, in the form of a Bid Bond made payable to the City of Bristol.
Bidders must submit a minimum of four (4) references from other water utilities located in the State of Connecticut for which the bidder successfully performed similar work, including but not limited to:
water main installation and repair;
wastewater line installation and repair;
pump station construction and repair;
dam construction and repair;
treatment facilities construction and repair; and
water storage tank construction and repair.
The bidder shall submit with its references both project descriptions on work performed as well as contract amounts. Of the references submitted, one (1) project must include at a minimum the installation or replacement of two hundred (200) lineal feet of 24” or larger water main and appurtances; one (1) project including the installation or replacement of not less than 200 lineal feet of 18” or larger sanitary sewer piping; one (1) project where a dam was constructed or repaired; and one (1) project where piping 16” in diameter at a treatment facility or water pump station was constructed or repaired inside the facility. Bidders must have on staff a minimum one (1) diesel mechanic, available for the repair of their equipment in a timely manner.
The awarded contractor will be required to secure a Performance Bond and a Labor and Materials Bond, each in the amount of 100% of the contract award, provided by a surety licensed to do business in the State of Connecticut.
The successful Bidder shall not discriminate against any employee or applicant for employment because of race, color, religion, gender, or national origin. The Contractor will take affirmative action to ensure that applicants are employed, and that employees are treated during employment without regard to their race, color, religion, gender, or national origin.
