In addition, all millings produced on the project will be brought to our Public Works Operations Center yard located on Old School Road denoted by star.

Length
of
the
street
has
been
adjusted
to include the approximate 12-13 feet beyond the radius of the apron adjoining streets. Successful contractor is responsible for insuring positive drainage through the intersection and the smooth transition of the milled butt joint connecting the individual crowns of the intersecting streets. Note that thermoplastic stop bars are not part of the contract and will be completed under separate contract after the appropriate curing time of the newly installed asphalt at the intersection.
All work will be done in accordance with the technical specifications of the North Carolina Department of Transportation. Work includes edge milling adjacent to existing concrete curb and gutter and adjacent to existing driveways to ensure smooth transition from new pavement surface to existing concrete driveways, full depth patch
repairs as indicated in the table by the "FD" preceded by the estimated square foot of repair area. Full depth patches will be installed prior to overlay of surface. All other incidentals are included in the bid. Taper from the intersection of streets and milling providing for a smooth transition is included in the work as an
incidental.

ote:
On milling, an extra length has been added to the length of the street to accommodate milling the intersections joining the paved street allowing for a smooth transition from one street to another. Also, contractor is responsible for removing all vegetative debris created during the milling and edge cleaning portion of the work site preparation.
On valves, an extra 2 have been added in the event valves are discovered under the vegetative debris cleaned on the edge of the road.

The calculated average of 23.75% of area of road is currently estimated for the full depth patch. This amount is subject to be modified during construction. As an additional note, a partial copy of the current Powell Bill Map is included in the Bid Proposal packet identifying the location of streets in the city scheduled for work denoted by an integer associated with a table.
All miscellaneous work related to the above, in addition to relocation of all conflicting water and sewer utilities within the construction area. Please call David Joseph Seneres at (336) 434-7344 to arrange a time to meet with him and visit the above locations.General Contractors are notified that "An Act to Regulate the Practice of General Contractor, Sections 87-1 through 15" ratified by the General Assembly of North Carolina, on March 10, 1925, and as subsequently amended will be observed in receiving and awarding general contracts.
All hand carried bids are to be delivered to Archdale City Hall. Proposals are to be marked "Contract #2026- 565-1". Please label proposals as follows:

Cash, Bid Bond, or Certified Cashier's Check on a bank insured by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation made payable to the City of Archdale, North Carolina in the amount of Five Percent (5%) of the total bid must accompany all proposals in order to guarantee compliance with the provisions of the proposal.
The City reserves the right to reject any and all bids as may in the judgment of the Council of the City of Archdale serve its best interests and to waive irregularities and informalities in any bid submitted.
The City may at its discretion increase the quantity of work requested under this contract by up to 30%.
Bids may be held by the City Council of the City of Archdale for a period not to exceed thirty (30) days from the date of opening bids for the purpose of reviewing the bids and investigating the qualifications of bidders.
The contractor will be required to post a performance bond and a payment bond for One Hundred Percent (100%) of the amount of his contract when the contract is awarded. The attached standard City of Archdale contract will be signed upon Council award.
The contractor shall carry (a) Workmen's Compensation insurance in statutory amounts and employer's liability of not less than $1,00,000.00, (b) auto liability including non-ownership and hired car in amount of not less than $1,000,000.00 combined single limit, (c) comprehensive general liability of not less than
$2,000,000.00 CSL and including (1) premises/operations and (2) broad form contractual liability. The Contractor shall provide the City with a Certificate of Insurance evidencing these required coverages and naming the City as an additional insured before work begins. An endorsement with the following language shall be added to the required insurance policy: "It is understood and agreed that in consideration of the terms and conditions of the policy to which this endorsement is attached, the City of Archdale is recognized as an additional named insured under this policy."
