Work will be performed with a two (2) person minimum crew size in Idaho and Montana. In areas with potential for high Grizzly bear, Mountain lion, and/or wolf activities, having a crew of three or more people is recommended, and may be required in some Forests, Wilderness Areas, and/or Bear Management Areas, for safety. Prior to commencing work, check with the appropriate Forest/Districts for any bear protocol. Work can be performed with a one (1) person minimum crew size in North Dakota and South Dakota. In areas with the potential for high Grizzly bear, Mountain lion, and/or wolf activities, having a crew of two or more persons is recommended for safety. The contractor shall furnish all labor, equipment, supervision, transportation, supplies (except those designated as government-furnished), and incidentals to perform all work necessary in the areas specified. All aspects of the work program shall be performed in an organized, systematic manner to assure services will be performed over the entire unit.
The work of this contract encompasses field-based vegetation sampling of forested and non-forested condition inventory plots across the Rocky Mountain Research Station. It includes, but is not limited to locating, monumenting, and photographing plots and conducting inventories of trees, shrubs, forbs, graminoids, collecting tree cores, and setting characteristics using a variety of protocols in the RMRS FIA P2 Field Procedures (see Exhibit J).
