Description
The Halifax Regional Municipality (HRM) is currently undertaking the redevelopment of the Cogswell Interchange and surrounding lands located in downtown Halifax. The proximity of the Halifax Wastewater Treatment Facility (Halifax WWTF) to HRM’s downtown core presents a unique opportunity to use the facility’s effluent stream as a source of clean, renewable energy for space heating and domestic hot water, and as a heat sink for cooling, in a district energy system (DES) being developed in the Cogswell area of downtown Halifax. This new utility is known as the Cogswell District Energy Utility (Cogswell DEU). Halifax Water is seeking an engineering team to complete the detailed engineering design in accordance with the project deliverables.
