Overview
Summary

The Request for Information seeks input from qualified providers to help gauge the ability to create new Veteran-specific emergency shelter beds and conduct outreach with unhoused Veterans to fill those beds. Responses to this RFI will provide additional information about where services might best be placed, capabilities of current homelessness providers, ability to conduct outreach to unhoused Veterans, or how providers could utilize this funding to help expand existing or create new services for unhoused Veterans.

Background

Currently, the crisis response system for Veterans has extremely limited Veteran-specific beds, all located within Tacoma. Veteran-specific emergency shelter sites have been proven to increase communication with the Department of Veteran Affairs (VA) and Supportive Services for Veteran Families (SSVF), which greatly increases the likelihood of Veteran households gaining housing.
