Description
*This is a SPECIAL NOTIFICATION that this a SOLE SOURCE requirement. This is not a Request for Quote.*
The Technical Assistance Field Team (TAFT), part of the Caribbean Basin Security Initiative (CBSI), provides technical and maintenance oversight to the Caribbean Area of Operation (AOR). The Royal Bahamas Defense Force (RBDF) is currently in need of replacement engines for one of their vessels. This vessel is currently not operational due to failed engines. The engines must be Yamaha because the RBDF currently has infrastructure and personnel in place to support Yamaha engines and they currently utilize Yamahas engines on other vessels.
Central Florida Yamaha is the authorized dealer for government sales of Yamaha engines. The RBDF conducts extensive maritime operations enforcing maritime laws, with special emphasis on illicit drug trafficking. Other law enforcement duties include enforcement of immigration, customs, fisheries, and wildlife protection laws and on-scene coordination for maritime search and rescue. The new engines will enable the RBDF to restore this vessel to operational status, significantly increasing their operational capabilities.
