The County of Sacramento (County ) owns and operates the Sacramento International Airport (SMF or Airport) through the Department of Airports (Department). SMF is a commercial service airport located 12 miles from downtown Sacramento. SMF opened in 1967 under its previous name Sacramento Metropolitan Airport, and in the 1990s was renamed Sacramento International Airport.
Sacramento International Airport (SMF) is a complex operating facility governed by a strict set of operating rules to ensure the safety of the traveling public, tenants and department support personnel.
The SMF support infrastructure improvements include conduit for electrical and data wiring, paving at parking lot entrances and exits, vehicle detector loops, demolition of existing parking booths, support IT equipment, and demolition and construction of new concrete islands for parking equipment and other related support infrastructure.
There are three components as part of the overall project: 1) construction of the support infrastructure, 2) equipment, and 3) civil improvements. These support infrastructure improvements include conduit for electrical and data wiring, paving at parking lot entrances and exits, vehicle detector loops, demolition of existing parking booths, support IT equipment, and demolition and construction of new concrete islands for parking equipment and other related support infrastructure.
