The National Institutes of Health (NIH/OLAO), hereby gives notice of its intent to award a sole source contract to David Kopf Instruments located at 7324 Elmo Street, Tujunga, California 91042-2205, for the follow-on services of stereotaxic equipment, stereotaxic components and customer support.
The Briggs LSR section aims to discover how plasticity occurs in the visual system during recovery from stroke and how identified neuronal connections contribute to vision, vision deficits, and in diseases like Autism. These experiments require stereotaxic surgery to be performed in animals that requires a custom-built stereotax and associated accessories to enable fine manipulations. Kopf manufactures quality stereotaxic equipment and they will replicate the custom system. Data available is not adequate to assure that these parts, if procured from another manufacturer, will perform the same function in the equipment/system as the parts to be replaced. Further, drawings or specifications sufficient to obtain competition are not available.
This is not a request for competitive proposals. Potential sources who believe they can provide the service listed above are invited to submit a capability package in writing to Contract Specialist, Ms. Van Holley at holleyv@od.nih.gov no later than 9:00 AM ET on Tuesday, April 29, 2025.
Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice. The Government will not cover any costs for any information or inquiry submitted as a result of this notice.
The North American Industry Classification System Code (NAICS) for this acquisition is : 334516 Analytical Laboratory Instrument Manufacturing. The small business size standard is 1,000 employees.
